The idea of this kit came to me when I had invasive surgery for Breast Cancer in 2007. After this surgery I had 2 surgical drains hanging from my body with no good place to store the drain bulbs, so I came up with the Surgical Drain Pouch Kit (Patent Pending). The simple and fashionable tie around the waist drain pouch has 2 very large pockets to store drain bulbs (easily up to three per pocket) and excess tubing in to make caring for drains as simple as possible. The drain bulbs can be easily accessed for stripping and emptying and are safely tucked out of the way to allow you or your patient to continue with necessary activities. Each kit also includes a Shower Ribbon to allow for drains to be held while showering or bathing. The Shower Ribbon is threaded through the plastic loop on drain bulbs and is then hooked or tied together and hung around the neck providing a safe place for tubing and drains to be stored while bathing. I believe this kit can take some of the trauma of invasive surgery away by helping you or your patient care for their surgical drains in an easy and convenient manner. I have sent out many of these to women affected by Breast Cancer. It can also be of help to anyone who must receive drains after invasive surgery.
